U.S. Government/Economics Syllabus
Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to my U.S. Government class. This information will be important for you to maintain in your Online Interactive Notebook. My task is to ensure that I am prepared to present materials to you that will assist you in successfully understanding the U.S. Government curriculum. Your task is to successfully complete your assignments when given to you. The information below will assist you in this class.
The Grade Scale (grade breakdown):
Classwork/Homework – 40%
Participation – 10%
Projects-30%
Exams– 20%
Rules:
In your seat when the bell rings and ready to work or you may be tardy. This tardy may result in an unexcused tardy.
If you are absent you must check with me for make-up work during the break or toward the end of the period. You may also visit the website for any make-up work you may need.
School issued identification badges (ID’s) are to be worn and visible at all times. You are not allowed out of the classroom without both your id and agenda. You may not use someone else’s agenda. These are school requirements.
Food &/or drinks are allowed in my classroom as long as you clean up after yourself.
If you are caught cheating on assignments or exams, this will result in an automatic zero. Copying someone else’s work is also cheating!!!
The district has provided all students with laptops. Bring either your district issued laptop or personal laptop or tablet, charged every day to class. Failure to maintain an adequately charged device may lower one's participation grade.
Consequences:
1st offense – verbal warning
2nd offense – parent contact
3rd offense – 2nd parent contact
4th offense – office referral
*** any serious class disruptions will mean an automatic referral to the principal’s office.
Materials: loose-leaf paper, black or blue ink pens or pencils, & a 1 inch binder. Textbooks won’t be checked out (You will have access to a class set of textbooks and will use either your district issued laptop or personal laptop or tablet).
